A documentary in development
A small town watches the sky. One night, the camera was there.
Capilla del Monte sits at the foot of Cerro Uritorco, in the sierras of Córdoba, Argentina. On a night on the hills above the town, a crowd watched a light, and a camera filmed it.
The story
She came to film other people's sightings. Then she saw the lights herself.
In 1986 a burnt mark appeared on a hill near the town, and the news made the area famous as "UFO country". People came for the sky, and many stayed.
Leesa Rowland, an actress and producer from New York, came to film these people. On her first night, on Uritorco, she says the lights came right at her group and danced.
On a later night she stood on the hills with a crowd and filmed a light. The crowd watched it fall slowly onto the mountain and disappear.
The places
Every place here has a story.
The film moves between the mountain, the hills and the town.
- Cerro UritorcoThe mountain above the town, where Leesa spent her first night.
- The Pajarillo hill, near OngamiraWhere the burnt mark appeared in 1986.
- Los TerronesA natural park where groups go at night to watch the sky.
- The hills above the townWhere a crowd filmed a light on the night of the sky watch.
- Capilla del MonteThe town that lives by the sky.
- The temple of Mary MagdaleneLeesa visited it, and wept there. Its location is pending.
What we filmed
"I got it." "Oh my god."
A sky watch on the hills, filmed live, with Leesa in the crowd. A red light hangs over the hills. A small light jumps beside it.
The crowd asks if it is a satellite, a car or an ambulance. Then a light falls slowly onto the mountain and disappears.

The film
The footage is shot. Here is the film it can become.
We propose two structures from the same footage. Version A follows Leesa as a witness. Version B is a portrait of the town and its people.
